Hopalong Cassady played for the Ohio State Buckeyes from 1952-55. During his college career, he scored 37 touchdowns in 36 games. He also played defensive back; a pass was never completed on him in his four years at the university. In 1955, Cassady won the Heisman Trophy (by the largest margin at the time), the Maxwell Award, and was named the Associated Press Athlete of the Year. As a senior in the 1995 season Eddie George rushed for a school record 1927 yards and 24 touchdowns an average of 152.2 yards per game. He won the Heisman Trophy in the closest vote in the history of the award at the time beating University of Nebraska's Tommie Frazier by 264 ballots. Following the season he was the first-round draft selection of the Houston Oilers (now the Tennessee Titans).
